Dead By Daylight has now gotten cross-play, bringing the communities of PC, Xbox One, Switch, and PlayStation 4 together. In addition, the studio hopes that the mixing of players will produce new metas and ensure that survival is never guaranteed in the asymmetrical horror game. Something called Cross-Friends has been introduced, too, and that’s not just when the other player messes up a QTE and alerts the hunter. “Finally, players will now be able to create a friends list that is cross-platform and enjoy an unprecedented multiplayer experience in their favourite multiplayer horror game,” said the studio....

Deadly Premonition’s Hidetaka Suehiro has taken to Twitter to announce that the Nintendo Switch edition of the cult classic will be getting an update, following complaints from fans over the buggy port. Deadly Premonition Origins, which was both revealed and released last week on Switch, is marred by frame rate drops and sound issues, like missing dialogue and sound effects. Whilst most understand part of Deadly Premonition’s charm, back in the day, was in how B movie-like it was, few are willing to put up with the issues present in the recent re-release....

Sony and Kojima Productions have finally released that long teased Death Stranding trailer, and it gives us a nice big meaty chunk of Death Stranding footage, as well as announcing a release date for November 8 this year. In the trailer, which of course we’ve embedded below, we get to meet our star studded cast, some of the story of the world and even – gasp – some gameplay, finally solidfying the fact it seems to be a third person action adventure....

The Season of the Undying in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is about to end. Soon, it’ll be time for a renewed grind and additional content. That’s due to the upcoming Season of Dawn, the next chapter in the Destiny 2 saga which was recently confirmed by Bungie. We’re going to be seeing some nerfs (poor OEM and Recluse), and some changes to Solar subclasses. Perhaps we may also see a deeper focus on Mithrax’s role and that of the Fallen....

As Destiny 2’s next season approaches, Bungie has been building hype by rolling out major changes like allowing players to change armor affinity. In a recent update, the developer also announced another highly-requested change to the armor mod system, which will make armor mods from different seasons compatible with one another. While grinding has always been a part of Destiny 2, as the Light Grind shows, Bungie has only worsened the issue by not allowing armor from different seasons to slot seasonal mods....

Digimon Survive might be launching in 2020, or it might be launching in 2021, but it’s not clear due to conflicting official sources (via DualShockers). In April, Famitsu erroneously listed the game as “TBA” along with games like The Last of Us Part 2. Developer Witchcraft and publisher Bandai Namco set the record straight, and confirmed that the game would be launching in 2020. However, it’s been spotted that the official Toei Animation schedule and the official Toei Animation Europe website have differing dates for Digimon Survive....

An industry insider is adding fuel to those speculative fires that Capcom’s strange timer is indeed counting down to the announcement of Street Fighter 6. GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb has once again beaten the publisher to the reveal, alleging in his Giant Bomb video show (via VGC) that multiple sources have intimated to them that a sixth instalment of the fan-favourite fighting game is on the way. Card autobattler Storybook Brawl is being review-bombed due to NFT integration. Developer Good Luck Games was this week acquired by cryptocurrency company FTX, which plans to add NFTs to the free-to-play game. Currently players can buy access to heroes and skins using real money, but they now fear how NFTs may be integrated and are review-bombing the game on Steam. Good Luck Games addressed the use of blockchain technology in a press release, though no specifics are given beyond the integration being “ethical” and based on fun....

Breakout indie hit Children of Morta now has a 2020 roadmap with loads of free content and one paid DLC. Gareth Damian Martin found a new way to tell a story in In Other Waters, presenting us with a luminous dashboard of buttons and scanners and radars to toy around with, then feeding a story through it.
