Activision was kept busy over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend fixing a popular Call of Duty glitch which granted infinite money and weapon XP. The now-fixed exploit let you repeatedly sell weapons at the game’s Buy Stations in exchange for XP. In a quick fix for the issue, XP from Buy Stations was nerfed to counter the number of people quickly levelling up their weapons. But, as fans quickly found, this still left the game’s white dumpster Dead Drops as an option....

The first Call of Duty movie isn’t even out yet, but that hasn’t stopped Activision Blizzard Studios from snapping up Joe Robert Cole to pen the script for the film’s sequel. Cole shot to fame as the writer behind the Marvel juggernaut Black Panther, and has since gone on to secure work on Netflix’s Failsafe. Right now he’s the only name attached to the Call of Duty movie sequel. The first Call of Duty movie is set to go into production at some point next year, although a cast has yet to be announced....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s Season 4 reloaded update is right around the corner, releasing July 15. For the CoD Zombies fans out there, this is a big one, as Mauer Der Toten is the first traditional Zombies map since February’s Firebase Z. The traditional round-based setup isn’t the only thing that will appeal to long-time Zombies fans, either. Mauer Der Toten takes the proceedings to Berlin, an environment in line with classic Zombies maps....

Capcom has apologised for a recent Resident Evil Village patch that’s affecting PC players. A bug seems to cause the game to crash, with some players on Steam claiming they’re locked out of the game from the startup screen. Capcom has stated it’s now working on a fix. “We’re aware of an ongoing issue with the latest patch that’s causing the game to crash for some users. We’re currently looking into a fix, and apologise for any inconvenience caused!...

Not quite content cracking on with the Castlevania series on Netflix, Hollywood producer Adi Shankar has announced that his next project will be an Assassin’s Creed anime series. Based on Ubisoft’s rather popular stealth-action franchise, the Assassin’s Creed anime series will tell an original story set within the Assassin’s Creed universe. There are no details regarding the show’s actual title, where we will be able to watch it, and who is in the cast, at this early stage....

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it won’t be bringing the cross-save feature to other versions of The Witcher 3. The game’s Nintendo Switch port just welcomed a new patch that enables it to save between said console, Steam, and its GOG adaptations. Other versions of the game will remain without the element, however. Netflix’s The Witcher brought a different meaning to the game and it’s soared in popularity since. Switch users were pleased to see the game made available for the dual-purpose console, with CDPR porting it for the device in October of last year....

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4–the first in the series to go multiplayer only–will open its doors Wonka-style for PC players starting August 10 with a beta. Those of you eager to know what’s in store, seek no further–check out the trailer below. The beta includes a bevy of different game modes. Besides the always classic team Team Deathmatch, players gain access to Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and the brand new Control mode....

Multiplayer medieval warfare game Chivalry II will be opening up a cross-platform Open Beta for people wanting to get their hands on the game ahead of its launch next month. The beta will launch across all of the game’s intended release platforms and allow you to play with and against your pals on a ton of new maps in the final playable test before the game goes live. New locations include The Slaughter of Coxwell, The Battle of Darkforest and The Siege of Rudhelm in Team Objective mode, The Battle of Wardenglade and Tournament Grounds in TDM and Free For All modes, the latter of which is also a new mode unlocked in this latest beta....

Final Fantasy-themed kart racer Chocobo GP has been dated for a March 10 release by publisher Square Enix. The game was first announced by Square Enix back in September and includes a whole host of characters from across the RPG series. Each one has their own abilities and variants, and you’ll also be able to equip Magicites to use as power ups like Fire. There’s several modes to pick from, including a Story Mode campaign to unlock new racers....

Chrono Trigger, the seminal JRPG from Square Soft that made its Steam debut in 2018, is getting an update on March 11. It’s not out of character for Square Enix to update some of its classic titles on Steam out of the blue, though. Final Fantasy VIII had a similar treatment when the developer added a handful of cheats to make the game easier. This was a few years before the release of Final Fantasy VIII Remastered in 2019, before talk of the re-release was even on the table....

Remedy Entertainment, the developer of paranatural action game Control, mentioned that it’s got two games in the works in its most recent financial results (via Remedy Entertainment). The publication begins with a pat on the back, as the company’s full year revenue for last year amounted to €31.6 million, which is a 57 per cent increase year-on-year. Control got lots of praise, securing Game of the Year from “over 20 major gaming media outlets and content creators, in addition to receiving 40 other awards and accolades....

Paradox Development Studio announced today that the Royal Court expansion for Crusader Kings III has been delayed until 2022. Among the many, many, delay notices we’ve gotten for games this year, this one is not surprising. Back in August, the developer mentioned the expansion is “going to take longer” than expected. To be frank, the team wasn’t set on a concrete release year, but the expansion was somewhat expected to release in 2021....

Bandai Namco has announced Dark Souls 3, the next game in its critically-acclaimed franchise heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2016. Original director Hidetaka Miyazaki is back to direct development on the third game, with the game set to take players “across a wide variety of locations in an interconnected world of unrelenting challenge and deep RPG gameplay as they search for a way to survive the coming apocalypse”....

Days Gone, Sony Bend’s upcoming open-world not-zombie action game, will feature around six hours worth of cutscenes, according to a report on GameReactor (via Comic Book). Days Gone is going to take around 30 hours to complete, so that means about 20% of the game is made up of cinematics.
