We know that despite a stellar trailer showcasing the intricacies of Battlefield 3’s single player campaign, developer DICE will be putting the brunt of their focus on multiplayer. What we don’t know yet (it’s still early obviously) is how that multiplayer will work: will it be primarily objective based, will it feature a level progression — things of that nature. What we do now know however, is just how many players DICE would like to feature for any given multiplayer game....

As Activision Blizzard receives immense backlash surrounding the Blitzchung incident, their attempts to simultaneously quell Chinese disrepute and worldwide interest to protect the forthcoming approval of Call of Duty: Mobile’s release in China has only plunged them deeper into criticism. PlayStation owners will be the first to get their hands on the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard thanks to a Champion Hill Alpha this weekend. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the alpha will run from August 27 and August 29 and will allow players to try out Champion Hill, a brand new multiplayer game mode for the shooter series’ latest outing. It’s described as a “multi-arena survival tournament” mode promising quick action and “impactful” gameplay....

There was a time when THQ Nordic was more than just an amalgamation of IPs. Yes, there was a time when there was simply a company named “THQ,” developing and publishing AAA titles. The company found many successes in the industry up until 2012, when it defaulted on a $50 million business loan. The company liquidated all assets, and eventually Nordic Games bought the company’s name and some of its assets, rebranding as THQ Nordic....

Conan Exiles launched out of Early Access in May last year, and it’s become a fairly popular MMO since then. There have been quite a few DLC packs since the final release, and today the latest one, Blood and Sand, is available for purchase. It introduces new weapons and armor, which the developer Funcom vaunts as exquisite and ferocious. The DLC also features new arena-building pieces to the Exiled Lands....

Sony revealed during its State of Play broadcast last night that Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will receive a bunch of retro-themed extras on PlayStation 4. The skins let you give the likes of Crash, Coco, and Cortex a 1999 visual makeover, while retro karts and an exclusive retro track will also be available for the PS4 version of the racing title. If that wasn’t enough, all versions of Nitro-Fueled will feature content plucked from Crash Nitro Kart, such as tracks, karts, and more....

Bandai Namco has shipped 3 million copies of Dark Souls 3 worldwide, reaching the milestone faster than any other game in the franchise. Launched in Japan on March 24 and international territories on April 12, the game has shipped half a million units in Japan, 1 million in Europe and 1.5 million in the US. In addition, total Dark Souls franchise shipments have exceeded 13 million worldwide. Dark Souls 3 is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One....

Early access roguelike Darkest Dungeon 2 is getting a major update which reworks the game’s progression system - and also resets some player stats, developer Red Hook Games has warned. The Altar of Hope update adds a new type of reward - Candles of Hope - which you can earn and then spend on various attributes which should make future missions safer for your party. As you’d expect, the bigger the danger, the bigger reward in terms of Candles bagged at the end....

Darksiders 3 has gotten off to a pretty lacklustre start in the UK, with the latest Chart-Track data confirming the Gunfire Games-developed actioner has debuted at 32 on the All Format Chart. Not exactly the best of starts, although it’s still important to remember that digital sales are not tracked. Having said that, the fact it only managed a quarter of Farming Simulator 19’s physical sales is a bit worrying....

Since its first-ever reveal, Death Stranding has been the talk of the town and for multiple reasons. First, it showed that Hideo Kojima would return to video game development once again with a new studio and new project after an abrasive departure from Konami. It also brought on a slew of commentary regarding its celebrity cast, adding people highly admired by Hideo Kojima. Sony Interactive Entertainment America has detailed the lineup of PlayStation-exclusive content for Destiny 2: Forsaken. Those of you who are picking up the expansion on PS4 will be treated to a bunch of extras for Bungie’s alien shooter, including the Wavesplitter; an Exotic weapon created by the same folk who brought you Coldheart. Meanwhile, PS4 players get to dip into the Broodhold, an exclusive Strike that sees Guardians storming the Tangled Shore and laying waste to its Hive infestation....

The ninth season of Destiny 2 is coming to a close in just a couple weeks and the tenth Season of the Worthy is set to begin next. While developer Bungie has yet to even officially announce the name Season of the Worthy, Destiny 2 data mining and leaks have all but confirmed that is the name of the upcoming season. But who or what is/are the worthy? Where could Destiny 2 be headed next?...

In Bungie’s first podcast in two years (via GameSpot), Game Director Luke Smith, Community Manager Eric Osborne, and Project Lead Mark Noseworthy spoke about how the team are currently playing Destiny 2 at home to test it in the lead-up to release, later this year. Smith said the Destiny 2 team currently have builds at home and are ‘playing the s**t out of the game,” developing it in tandem. This gives Bungie the opportunity to see where the team can improve the game, which Smith describes as ‘pretty motivating....

Bungie has been known to sneak in hidden additions to what seem like routine game updates for Destiny 2. In a recent update, they have done just that, adding a quest to leads players to a returning fan-favorite exotic Pulse Rifle: the Outbreak Prime, now known as Outbreak Perfected. The quest, which was quickly picked apart by the Destiny 2 subreddit, is a very difficult undertaking for players. Prepare yourself to face Fallen foes who can reach a formidable 690 Power Level....
