Contra: Rogue Corps is not good. This is a game that not only actively ignores everything that has made the Contra series great over the last 30 years but almost every tenet of good game design in 2019. Rogue Corps is supposedly a sequel to Contra III: The Alien Wars. I say “supposedly” because other than the references to The Alien Wars in the opening cinematic, you’d be hard pressed to find any other connection to the Contra series....
Contra: Rogue Corps is just one of those games. It’s the type of game I know I’ll look back on fondly a few years from now, and encourage anyone to pick it up out of the bargain bin it’s inevitably destined for. It’s a messy, scattershot package with lots of issues that’ll deter those demanding a perfect experience. CD Projekt RED reveals that Cyberpunk 2077 uses a different game engine to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Big design changes are on the way for players’ legendary weapons in Destiny 2’s upcoming fourth year, according to game director Luke Smith. The studio plans to implement a new system that could fundamentally rework the way players interact with their loadouts. Writing in a Director’s Cut post on Bungie’s website, Smith says that the studio will be looking at implementing power caps on how high players’ legendary weapons can be infused in Year 4, a limitation that thus far hasn’t existed in Destiny 2 but was functionally present in the original game....
Michael Morhaime, the president of Blizzard Entertainment, just crashed the end of the Destiny 2 livestream to announce that Destiny 2 is coming to PC exclusively via Battle.net. Battle.net is Blizzard’s online portal for their games, including the MMORPG World of Warcraft, and Overwatch, Blizzard’s most recent success.
