It’s happening: Demon’s Souls will be revived for the PlayStation 5, and elbow-grease extraordinaire Bluepoint Games is at the helm. “Entirely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced, this remake invites you to experience the unsettling story and ruthless combat of Demon’s Souls in unparalleled visual quality and incredible performance,” said Sony in a press release. Goodness. It looks like those rampant theories about a new Demon’s Souls were on the money, after all....

Bungie has confirmed that a number of changes will be put in place with Destiny 2 update 2.0.0, which arrives on August 28 ahead of the Forsaken expansion. While much of the additions come in the shape of various tweaks to the three Guardian classes, the developer is also changing up a few things regarding Destiny 2’s travelling merchant, Xur, Agent of the Nine. Chiefly, he will no longer have his icon displayed on the Destination Map, nor will his location be tied to the weekly Flashpoints....

Speaking to MTV Multiplayer shortly before the launch of Crackdown 2, Ruffian Game’s producer James Cope took some time to address the criticisms being laid at the game’s doorstep in some reviews of the game. To see what kind of criticisms Mr. Cope is referring to, look no further than our excellent review. Last month, Discord’s jump into the games-selling market (sort of) began as the beta for its store began to roll out. Today Discord (via Eurogamer) has revealed the seven games that will be available through its First on Discord program. Last Year: The Nightmare, King of the Hat, Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption, At Sundown, Bad North, Mad Machines, and Minion Masters will be becoming to Discord this autumn, and will only be available on PC through the online chat dynasty’s store for, as the Discord blog puts it, ‘usually 90 days and then the developers can sell anywhere else they want’....

Infinity Ward has announced that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature an online mode called Ground Wars that can host up to 100 players in a session. Call of Duty isn’t a series known for large scale battles. The game excels at creating tension in fast-paced, yet small, squad shoot-outs. Players looking for large scale battlefield combat tend to opt for, well, Battlefield. This time around, however, Infinity Ward is looking to do it all....

A dev working on Call of Duty: Warzone has stated map rotation isn’t possible because install sizes are “crazy”. Josh Bridge, Call of Duty live operations lead, was chatting to streamer TeeP about whether Warzone map rotation could be supported (spotted by PC Gamer). Warzone’s original Verdansk map was replaced in December 2021 by Caldera, but it seems map rotation won’t be implemented. “We want that. We all want that. There’s a technical problem....

As part of its ongoing war against cheaters, the team behind Call of Duty’s server-side and kernel-level anti-cheat solution, known as Ricochet, has unveiled a new mitigation technique that takes a player’s weapons (and fists) away when the system identifies them as a cheater. Word of this latest mitigation technique comes via a new blog update detailing the current state of Call of Duty’s anti-cheat solution, and follows previously revealed anti-cheat techniques Cloaking and Damage Shield....

Last year, Lance McDonald hacked PT’s camera to reveal that the malicious ghost in the game is always directly behind the player. Now McDonald has turned his attention to God of War, hacking the camera and discovering a rather hilarious easter egg in the process. McDonald has released some footage of his God of War camera hack, showing the cinematic fight between Kratos and Baldur from the beginning of the game....

Remaking classic films can be a tricky business – there’s a fine line to walk between changing the story so much you lose what made it work in the first place, and being so overly reverential to the original that you’re left thinking, what’s the point? For Lars Klevberg, director of the recently released Child’s Play remake, the aspect that drew him was that the script updated the story in a timely way, while keeping the core of what made the original a success....

THQ Nordic has released a new trailer for upcoming action-RPG Chronos: Before the Ashes ahead of its release next month that explains the concept behind the game. A prequel to last year’s Remnant: From the Ashes, the game sees you take on the role of a hero exploring a mysterious labyrinth on a quest to save their homeland from a mysterious evil. However, an interesting mechanic comes into play when, every time you die, you come back to try again—only your hero has aged a year, which affects your mobility but also makes you more attuned to magic....

The Zulu are officially joining Civilization VI as part of the game’s shiny new Rise and Fall expansion, developer Firaxis Games has revealed. They’ll be flanked by their leader, Shaka, and are one of eight new playable civilizations coming to the acclaimed turn-based strategy juggernaut. A largely military-focused group, the Zulu are able to deploy a special unit known as the Impi, which replaces the bog-standard Pikeman and boasts a number of advantages, such as a flanking bonus, being able to earn XP at a faster rate, and a low maintenance cost....

There are some supernatural beings lurking in the darkest corners of the world. Zombies are one of those creatures that rise from their graves to haunt and eat their prey alive. Players got a first-hand experience of surviving and fending off the Zombies through several video games. However, RPG and Survival games are not the only standouts for such games. COD became another game to feature an additional Zombie Mode in their games throughout the years....

‘Combat-free’ indie adventure Submerged will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC next week, developer Uppercut Games has announced. The game will debut on Steam next Tuesday, August 4, before launching on PS4 on August 5. An Xbox One release will follow on Friday, August 7. A price has yet to be confirmed. Submerged tells the story of a young girl scouring a flooded city for supplies to help save her dying brother, and is being created by developers who have previously contributed to BioShock, XCOM and Fallout: Tactics....

While we’re waiting for the sixth installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise, we can finally get more of the world - and no, it’s not another Skyrim mod. The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms is a tabletop miniature adaptation that features all of the best parts of the series: heroes, draugr, crypts, and treasures - but also good ol’ Stormcloak vs Imperial war. The skirmish wargame was made by Modiphius, the creators of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare....

The Conan Exiles expansion, Isle of Siptah, is the target of the massive update 2.3. The changes are largely based on community feedback and should go a long way towards improving the island’s experience. The patch also includes a bunch of fixes and improvements to the core game. A all-new Conker game series will launch inside Project Spark on April 23, Microsoft, Team Dakota and Rare have announced. Project Spark developer Team Dakota is handling development of the series with full blessing from Rare. Conker’s Big Reunion will be the first in a new episodic series featuring the much-loved and foul-mouthed squirrel. The experience takes place 10 years after the events of Conker’s Bad Fur Day and finds Conker in need of reconnecting with his old friends....

Constructor HD has been pushed back to late summer, developer System 3 has confirmed. It had previously been due to ship later this month, following an earlier delay from January. The extra time will help the game “realize its potential” and let the development team “implement some much [requested] features”, including some new modes, a map editor, new DLC characters and “game elements that can really turn the gameplay on its head”....

The new MP600 lineup are M.2 NVMe SSDs that utilize PCIe Gen 4 and QLC NAND. Utilizing the Phison PS5016-E16 controller, the SSD advertises sequential read and write speeds up to 4,700 MBps and 1950 MBps, respectively. Crash Bandicoot will be returning to PS4 in 2017 in the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, offering remastered editions of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Activision has announced. The trilogy is in the hands of Vicarious Visions, which is rebuilding the classic platformers from the ground up for PS4 and PS4 Pro. We’re promised brand-new lighting, animations, environments and recreated cinematics. There’s also analogue stick support, a unified save and checkpoint system, improved bonus levels, time trials plus a fully remastered soundtrack and newly recorded dialogue....
