Today Bungie announced the release date of the next expansion for Destiny 2, titled “Lightfall.” The highly-anticipated new content will be released on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on February 28, 2023. Lightfall follows Destiny 2’s popular latest expansion The Witch Queen, and it’s set to continue the story with a new chapter in the Light and Dark saga, kicking off its end as the Guardians fight to avoid the next collapse....

In just a few weeks, some significant changes will be coming to Destiny 2 with the launch of the Shadowkeep expansion. In particular, there are big changes to weapons and a nerf to some of the game’s auto-reload mechanics, which are going to shake up the meta especially in PvE. And looking at these upcoming changes, there’s one exotic weapon currently in the game that is poised to leap into the lead as one of the best, if not the best, damage-dealing weapons in the game....

Destiny 2 hasn’t had an entirely smooth launch so far. There’s always a bit of queuing when a multiplayer game first launches, ‘cos everyone tries to get online at once, but a bunch of prospective Guardians on PS4 were having bumper issues last night. Bungie confirmed on Twitter that they were investigating some PS4 users ‘receiving errors indicating permissions to access online multiplayer may have changed.’ As of this morning those investigations were ongoing....

So far, the response to Season of Dawn by Destiny 2 players appear to be positive thanks in large part to the new activity, The Sundial. As the studio did last season for Shadowkeep, each week brings new content for players and as detailed in the Season 9 roadmap, this week should be pretty exciting. It’s often a good idea for devs to add a mode to their game that allows for user-created content. I wasn’t expecting the Dirt series to add one, but Dirt 5 is going to launch with the Playgrounds mode. Players will be able to not only make their own challenges but play and vote on other people’s. ArenaNet, the developer of Guild Wars 2, is delivering on its promise to release past Living World episodes for free in the build-up to the release of the upcoming End of Dragons expansion. You can’t grab all the episodes for free right now though, as new ones will be released each week starting with today. The Living World episodes will be released two at a time in chronological order. Mobile game developer Supercell is on a roll with Clash of Clans, seeing its first increase in year-over-year revenue since 2015. Toward the end of 2020 publisher Dotemu announced it was collaborating with developer Triskell Interactive to remake classic Ancient-Egypt-themed city builder Pharaoh for a modern era, and now, following a bit of a delay for the project, fans can put the upgraded version through its paces in a newly released Steam demo. The original Pharaoh, developed by isometric city builder supremos Impressions Games, released in 1999 and gave players the opportunity to participate in fifteen centuries of Ancient Egyptian history, beginning by establishing nomad settlements and slowly flexing their management muscles to create and maintain bustling cities as its campaign progressed....

It’s not been long since Gears of War 2’s sixth title update was announced, and Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski (affectionately known as Cliffy B) admits that the fans are mainly to thank for the update.
