Developer Motion Twin’s Dead Cells is all set to get its first piece of paid DLC in a couple of weeks, called The Bad Seed, and now a teaser is showing off some of the new gameplay that will come with the add-on. The Dead Cells expansion promises to bring new biomes, enemies, weapons, and more to the action-platform roguelike game. The Bad Seed is coming after over a year of free updates to the core game (since Dead Cells’ release in August 2018), and it’ll cost players $4....

With Destiny 2 launching its own battle pass, the game has more things to do than ever before. This week you’ll be taking on Valus Ta-aurc and his Cabal hordes on Mars in the Heroic Strike. Grounded is the only modifier this time, so it shouldn’t prove too much trouble. Hydra is this week’s Nightfall, where you have to head down to the Ishtar Sink....

Game developers will be able to use Project Scorpio’s 6 teraflops of GPU power in any way they wish, and won’t be forced to hit a native 4K resolution, head of Xbox Phil Spencer suggested in a video posted earlier this week. Speaking in the video (below), Spencer explained that Scorpio is a “6 teraflop gaming machine, which will be a great gaming machine for true 4K gaming, giving you a native 4K frame buffer so you can see games in all their beauty....

On November 22, Infinity Ward released one of the biggest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare updates to date mainly aimed to fix lingering issues with the popular first-person shooter as well as add Gun Game. Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update 1.09 also broke some things in the game, and so Infinity Ward has released a new patch to fix those problems, as well as address some other concerns....

Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have known for quite a while that the game is going to earn its M rating. Things like white phosphorous have the previous Call of Duty studio head worried. These controversial aspects of the game are about to get dialed up to 11 if the ESRB’s description of the game is any indication. Along with white phosphorous, the game will apparently have a child soldier section, as well as a host of other aspects that could easily warrant an M rating....

A new weapon tuning patch has arrived in Call of Duty: Vanguard Season Two. The patch affects a lot of various guns in the game. For example, the Cooper Carbine got many tweaks to its attachments. Weapons in the light machine gun and marksman rifle classes have also seen some changes. And, of course, what is a patch without the usual sweep up for bugs? Capcom has announced that survival horror classics Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 4 are coming to Nintendo Switch next year. There’s not much known about them right now, though presumably they’ll be based on the high-definition re-releases that Capcom launched on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One a few years ago as part of the series’ 20th anniversary. Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero were originally GameCube exclusives (this version of Resi being a full remake, not the PSOne edition) that launched in 2002, while Resi 4 arrived in 2005 and has since been ported to pretty much every platform out there....

While MMO gamers eagerly await the launch of Carbine’s Wildstar, today they revealed how the game will be funded. Wildstar will be released as a boxed game which can be picked up at your local gaming emporium or through digital download, this also comes with 30 days free. Once the 30 days runs out a monthly subscription option will be available but there is also the C.R.E.D.D system to fund game time....

Now, if you’re anything like me, the announcement of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands left you a little puzzled. What happened to the fantastic (if admittedly easy) cel-shaded Prince of Persia? Critically well received and incredibly well-designed, Prince of Persia (the 2008 version) was a strong, enjoyable romp that left the player gagging for more. Especially with that cliffhanger ending. So, where did it go? Michael McIntyre (level design director of The Forgotten Sands and the 2008 title) spoke to Kotaku recently, explaining why The Forgotten Sands harked back to the Sands of Time trilogy, seemingly abandoning everything that the 2008 title stood for....

UPDATE 12.10pm UK: Following this morning’s leak, Crytek has now officially confirmed Crysis 4. The developer released the short CGI trailer below just after midday UK time, less than an hour after a social media post spoiled the surprise. There’s little to the trailer other than some flashy effects reminiscent of the series’ nanotechnology, and then the phrase: “Join the journey. Become the Hero.” But there’s now no doubt: Crysis 4 is on its way....

Creative Assembly have acquired Crytek Black Sea, a studio that has reportedly been up for sale since 2016, adding another 60 staff to their overall team numbers. The Bulgaria-based facility will now be known as Creative Assembly Sofia. This is the latest expansion for the Creative Assembly team, which has increased its total staff numbers to more than 500 over the past year (said to be an increase of around 37%)....

A pair of YouTubers have (somehow) managed to avoid fines after being charged by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with directing viewers to their gambling site, CSGOLotto, without disclosing the fact that they owned it. The two privileged young men, Trevor ‘TmarTn’ Martin and Thomas ‘Syndicate’ Cassell, agreed to a deal with the FTC which requires them to report their financial activity to the commission, and they’ll have to disclose any endorsements they enter into going forward....

Update: SEGA has announced Daytona 3 Championship USA, a new arcade game based on the original game engine. The game will feature three new tracks, including a version of the newly renovated Daytona International Speedway. The original game’s three classic courses have also been remastered for the new game. The game’s arcade cabinet will feature a 47” LED monitor and can be linked for up to eight players. New for Daytona 3 is a spectator video billboard marquee with 27” display which offers an overview of the race action....
