Former Metal Gear Solid voice actor David Hayter has said he didn’t get along with Hideo Kojima and feels the game creator was never a big fan of his. Speaking on the Game Informer podcast about how he was replaced by Kiefer Sutherland in MGS5, Hayter said: “I think he handled it pretty badly and I’ve got no particular love for Kojima. “I respect him and I think he’s a brilliant game maker....

The director of Days Gone has said “local studio management always made us feel like it was a big disappointment”, and called Sony’s decision not to greenlight a sequel “weird”. Reacting to the news that Sucker Punch’s PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima has now sold over 8m copies, Days Gone director Jeff Ross said that when he left Sony in late 2020, the zombie game had already sold over 8m copies - and it has since gone on to sell even more, plus over a million sales on Steam....

On October 16, Warner Bros is holding its annual DC Fandom livestream, which will provide a variety of DC-related gaming news. DC Fandome 2021 will feature updates on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights, both previously announced and highly anticipated games. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an upcoming open-world game, with Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark as playable characters. We know it’ll take place in Metropolis, where Superman resides, and the game seems to have a story separate from the films....

Deadpool, the R-rated comic book movie which features Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth, surpassed all expectations at the US box office this weekend, taking $135 million and setting a new benchmark for President’s Day Weekend. The movie had been tracking well, and many had pegged it to take in the region of $60-$70 million, but doubling this figure must be beyond 20th Century Fox’s wildest dreams, especially given its modest production budget of $58 million....

The days of the classic Konami franchise might be over, but there are people who worked for the company that joined Hideo Kojima on the Death Stranding project, to the point where over half of the staff had worked with Konami in the past. Hideo Kojima split from Konami in 2015, turning Kojima Productions into an independent studio. Kojima had worked with Konami since the 80s and created the Metal Gear Solid series for the company....

It’s been officially confirmed that Kojima Productions is indeed working on a sequel to 2019 PS4 exclusive Death Stranding. Death Stranding 2 was revealed during this year’s Game Awards with a first trailer. While we didn’t get too many details, it does seem to take place some years after the first game. Funnily enough, during its reveal – Kojima (and all the imagery around the game) only referred to the sequel as ‘DS2’ rather than a full name....

The private room in Death Stranding is where players complete important tasks like showering, using the restroom, fast-traveling, and more, and so it’s a place that players will visit frequently throughout their time with the game. Capcom has clarified comments made last week by chairman and CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto regarding changes in the publisher’s development process in an effort to focus on hitting quality targets.
