Developer CD Projekt RED has offered up some fresh gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077, and while last week showed the game running on Xbox, this week it’s the turn of the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5 versions to get some love. This time around we’re treated to some early game footage from the Nomad lifepath, which is one of three of the upcoming RPG’s possible early game routes—alongside Streetkid and Corpo—you’ll get to pick from when you create a character....

Ten months after Bandai Namco pulled online support for its Dark Souls trilogy on PC, online services for Dark Souls Remastered - the only series entry the publisher was yet to address following its move - have finally been restored. Servers for Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3 were “temporarily deactivated” back in January following reports the games were vulnerable to Remote Code Execution exploits....

Days Gone developer Sony Bend has released update 1.07 for its Freaker-smashing adventurer, after the previous patch caused a number of crashing issues for PlayStation 4 owners. The game has been suffering from a number of technical issues since launch, notably cases of audio cutting out. Sony has been patching things up as best it can, although update 1.06 seemed to cause more problems than it fixed, with crashing issues running rampant as a result....

Heading into Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, developer Bungie is planning to change a lot about the way Eververse works. Specifically, the focus is going to be on selling cosmetics directly through Bright Dust and eliminating the Bright Engrams that reward a given season’s Eververse items. For Bungie, it means a stronger source of revenue to fund content – like how the Whisper of the Worm ornaments funded the Zero Hour mission – but for the player, it means Bright Dust is going to be even more important....

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch, and it’s bringing a new Style change system with it. Fans of the series will remember Devil May Cry 3 as the game that truly put the franchise on the map. Its combat system, characterized by several upgradeable “Styles”, allowed players to chain together unique combos that brought DMC’s action to the next level. And now the Switch version of the game might take it even further....

Capcom has announced that the original trilogy of Devil May Cry games, featuring the original blonde Dante, are getting a second re-release, this time for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in March next year. Comprising of Devil May Cry games 1, 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, the trilogy was previously released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 all the way back in 2012. It’s not entirely clear what, if any, improvements will be made to that package, though the announcement on the Capcom Unity blog notes they’ll be running at full 60FPS and it’ll mark the first time the collection has been on all three of those modern formats....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare brought back Activision and Infinity Ward’s popular first-person shooter in a big way with last month’s launch, but the game hasn’t landed without its share of problems. A video posted on Reddit found that the multiplayer aspect of the game was failing to register damage between players. While the Call of Duty series has released on an annual basis for over a decade, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the first to return to the breakthrough sub-series that put developer Infinity Ward on the map and takes the series back to a more familiar warzone after the futuristic Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and the historical warfare of Call of Duty: WWII....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a resurgence for the Call of Duty brand. Activision recently confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sales are up by a “double-digit percentage” and microtransaction sales are increasing in parallel. It’s understandable then that Activision sees additional value in the Modern Warfare series, and the company has now indicated that it’s working on spin-offs. As reported by SeekingAlpha, Activision COO and President Coddy Johnson confirmed plans for Modern Warfare spin-offs in a recent quarterly financial call....

Since the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players have been eagerly awaiting any details pertaining to the battle royale mode. Finally, after a long wait, the new battle royale known as Warzone will release tomorrow as a standalone mode with a new contract system. The contract system in Warzone will work similarly to other Call of Duty games that involve contracts, where the player will earn a reward for completing relatively simple tasks....

When dealing with a game that’s been active for over 20 years, outdated mechanics are unavoidable. This is evident in Jagex’s long-running MMORPG RuneScape, which is why the developer had its Ninja Team specifically for addressing issues of this nature. Today, the Ninja Team returns from the shadows to release the Combat Cleanup Strike, which aims to improve the PvM experience in RuneScape. Eventually, the X-Men will get to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But in the meantime, there are still movies nearly completed, so we’ll still see New Mutants and X-Men: Dark Phoenix before any changes that drastic take effect. But this is still pretty much the end of the X-Men movies as we know them. Many of the projects on this list are unlikely to come to pass. Conan Exiles, the new survival game from Funcom featuring floppy genitalia that’s currently available on Steam Early Access, has made back its development costs in its first week. After selling 320,000 units, CEO Rui Casias issued a statement saying, ‘Funcom has gone through some challenging times in recent years and seeing the game we have poured so much time and effort into gain this amount of traction so quickly is very invigorating for everyone who works here,’ Casais said before adding that the team is determined to turn Conan Exiles into a ‘fully-fledged game....
