It was an interesting week for Destiny 2 fans as things began on somewhat of a sour note. Veteran players began to grumble and express discontent over the current state of the game and whether or not this drip feed, limited-time seasonal structure could work long term. Part of the issue stemmed from the lack of challenge and end game goals that the current experience has. Surprisingly, almost a day later during the weekly reset, a mysterious new quest appeared out of the blue with Osiris....

Destiny 2 has been down for some emergency maintenance after a glitch was deleting Glimmer and other materials from players’ inventory. In an effort to fix the damage, Bungie has had to go back and delete some of the progress players have made since the update that caused the issue rolled around. Destiny 2 has had several issues and glitches over the course of its two-and-a-half year lifespan, including weird hit boxes in PvP and an invincibility glitch that is allowing players to solo raids....

Destiny 2’s next season, Season of Dawn is about to begin on Tuesday, December 10th, and the weapons that were top-tier picks during the current Season of the Undying may no longer be players’ best option. As a result of the Lantern of Osiris seasonal artifact and its new mods, developer Bungie is able to influence what kinds of weapons and subclasses will be best for the season. For Season of Dawn, the weapon meta is going to shift away from this past season’s focus on hand cannons, submachineguns, and auto rifles....

The last couple of weeks have been non stop updates and reveals for the upcoming Lightfall DLC in Destiny 2. However, in the latest TWAB, Bungie has revealed that voting for the next Festival of the Lost Armor sets will begin very soon, and revealed portraits of what they look like. In previous years, the vote for the armor sets would be held as a general community, where everyone would vote on one armor set to be the main feature of the event....

Bungie has announced that it will be delaying this year’s Destiny 2 expansion, entitled The Witch Queen, into early next year. In the studio’s latest update to the community, Assistant Game Director Joe Blackburn revealed that, following the successful launch of Destiny 2: Beyond Light late last year, the team looked at its plans to finish off the current story arc which kicked off in that expansion with the next two chapters The Witch Queen and Lightfall and “made the difficult but important decision to move its release to early 2022; we also realized we needed to add an additional unannounced chapter after Lightfall to fully complete our first saga of Destiny....

As our mamas would always tell us, nothing lasts forever. This was all well and good when we were pining after a break-up, along with other clichés about fish in the sea and all of that, but maybe we’re not ready to let go just yet. Maybe we want to cling on desperately and wring every last drop out of Destiny that we can. There’s a lot of cautious buzz going around the film adaptation of Detective Pikachu. Even though Game Of Thrones is starting its long-awaited final season and Marvel Studios is about to bring 10 years of Avengers to a close, fans haven’t forgotten that a live-action Pokémon movie is happening. PC gaming maybe on the decline, but digital sales are up and surpassing boxed units, says the NPD Group. The Nation’s leading statistic research group estimates there were 11.2 million PC games sold via digital download in the early half of 2010, which is about 3 million more than the 8.2 million sold through traditional means. The purchase of PC titles from brick and mortar stores still accounts for more than half the market, so Target and Best Buy don’t have to worry their little heads about Steam stealing their thunder....

DiRT 5 is on its way to the current and next generation of consoles, and it’s been revealed that PlayStation 4 players will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version at no cost (via Push Square). A leaked trailer for the game stated this in its description, and owing to the fact that the video has now been scrubbed from YouTube, there might be some stock in this. The trailer also showed off the game’s event types, and a number of modes from the earlier DiRT entries will return....

Disco Elysium’s lead game designer Robert Kurvitz has filed a lawsuit against developer ZA/UM. Earlier this month, a number of key members of the development team confirmed they were no longer working at the studio. “The reason for dissolving the cultural organisation is that it no longer represents the ethos it was founded on,” wrote founding member of the ZA/UM cultural association Martin Luiga. “People and ideas are meant to be eternal; organisations may well be temporary....

Well, that was a surprise! Nippon Ichi Software/NIS America is known for releasing PC ports and remasters of their titles well after they originally came out for consoles or handhelds. For instance, Phantom Brave debuted in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. It finally arrived on PCs in 2016. Recently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players found a glitch allowing them to turn themselves invisible. Now, players have found another way to glitch out the game, this time making themselves immune from all damage. The glitch only works on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare map Aniyah Palace. In order to activate the glitch, players first travel to the upper left hand corner of the map. There, there is a sectioned off area covered in barbed wire which is supposed to be inaccessible....

Activision Blizzard has released two trailers ahead of next week’s release of Season 4 for Call of Duty Warzone & Vanguard. Entitled Mercenaries of Fortune, the battle royale side of proceedings will be seeing a lot of changes. These include some tweaks to Caldera, including new micro-POIs with more looting. There’ll also be secret underground Mercenary Vaults to uncover, and more surprises. However, some of the map’s famed jungle is getting a trim....

Making Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox “simply wouldn’t be profitable”, Microsoft has said. The claim comes as part of a fresh war of words between Xbox and PlayStation, as Microsoft seeks to finalise its eye-opening $68.7bn buyout of Activision Blizzard. Specifically, it comes in response to Sony’s recent objections to the deal - in which it argued that Call of Duty could not be rivalled, and that the franchise was vitally important to PlayStation as it influenced players’ choice of console....

Today the Japanese Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, which organizes Tokyo Game Show, reached out with a press release to announce the publishers and developers that will attend the virtual reality version of the show. Last year’s VR experience was considered a success having drawn 210,000 visitors who spent 27 minutes in the venue on average. A survey conducted among visitors determined that more than 90% ofrespondents were satisfied with the event and over 98% intended to participate again....
