Xseed Games and Marvelous Europe released a new English trailer for the upcoming coming-of-age JRPG Loop8: Summer of Gods. The video showcases an in-depth look at the gameplay of this JRPG that certainly feels a little bit Persona-ish in the fact that the relationships you forge influence gameplay. That being said, this goes a step further, ad they influence your success in combat much more directly, while the protagonist has the ability to “loop” back time to learn from his mistakes and turn defeats into victories....

Hideo Kojima and Mark Cerny are currently on a whirlwind tour of game studios around the world to check out cool new technologies. Today the pair visited Guerrilla Games in Amsterdam, which caught the attention of Crytek. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the year’s most highly anticipated titles. In a recent interview, CD Projekt Red Producer John Mamais talked about the development of the game, DLC, and interestingly enough, the idea of Cyberpunk 2077 one day making its way to Nintendo Switch. As of right now, there are no plans for a Nintendo Switch version of Cyberpunk 2077. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that a port won’t arrive at a later date....

It’s been about two weeks since developer CD Projekt Red delivered its game-sized patch for Cyberpunk 2077. Bungie’s new Destiny 2 dungeon, Spire of the Watcher, is finally here. Bringing guardians a new area to explore and conquer, but most importantly, new cowboy-themed loot to farm. Spire of the Watch takes heavy inspiration from the Wild West, from the trailer to the weapons and armor. Want your Titan, Hunter, or Warlock gunslinging with a cowboy hat on? The launch of Destiny 2: Season of the Lost enables the game’s cross-play function. Mind you, this is quite different from the cross-save feature, one that allowed you to migrate your account to another platform so you can still use your character (something I did when it was introduced during Shadowkeep). Destiny’s second expansion pack ‘House of Wolves’ will release on May 19, according to multiple online reports. The expansion will be available to download for £19.99 and is included with the Destiny Expansion Pass at no additional cost. Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human has a brand new trailer direct from E3 which emphasises the number of choices players will be able to make to create a unique story. It’s not clear how much of what’s featured will actually appear in the game.

Quantic Dream has announced that PS4-exclusive thriller Detroit: Become Human will be released on May 25. Born from the 2012 Kara tech demo on PS3, Detroit takes place in a futuristic version of the titular metropolis where humans have employed androids to carry out day-to-day menial tasks. The story focuses on three androids — Connor, Kara, and Markus — as they subvert their programming and begin to experience human-like emotions....

We’ve been talking/warning about it for a long time - usually in the context of game preservation - but the recent Xbox game outage has certainly justified our concerns. Online DRM, the need to have an active internet connection to verify that you’re permitted to play the games you own, has been a hot topic for some time now.
