I think we all knew, when the developer of Dead by Daylight announced a crossover with Resident Evil, that this was going to be a big chapter. I was not expecting just how big. Aside from a new killer, we’ve got two new survivors and a new map, and a number of brand new mechanics — some of which will very heavily change the way games can play out. And we now know the release date for the Dead By Daylight – Resident Evil chapter, which is set for this June....

Dead by Daylight released in 2016 and features asymmetrical multiplayer. Four years later, the game has a slew of killers, survivors, maps, and a strong player base. The developers behind the game, Behavior Interactive, have done an exceptional job of adding new content and keeping the game fresh. Dead by Daylight is arguably the best asymmetrical horror game to date. There are a handful of features the games does perfectly. From the wide cast of characters, players can choose from to the extensive progression system, Dead by Daylight offers plenty of variety....

Running on the Mothership RPG system, this brand new indie adventure takes players under the sea, tasking them with trying to save their remaining crewmates from a creepy catastrophe. Persona is a hot commodity nowadays, inspiring many games to follow its formula of RPG action mixed in with some romance. Demonschool, an upcoming tactical RPG, will release for PC in 2023. The creators are clearly taking pride in its inspirations, and is set to deliver a product fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series would love. The game is mixing in these elements with Italian-horror inspired graphics and set pieces, creating something truly unique and potentially horrifying....

Bungie has released a new trailer for Destiny 2’s upcoming Festival of the Lost event, which launches later today for the shoot-’n-loot sequel. As previously reported, Festival of the Lost is a Halloween-themed event that was introduced in the original Destiny, although it was absent last year. As such, this is the first time it’s been available for Destiny 2, where it introduces a bunch of new content, including a murder mystery and the Haunted Forest....

Destiny 2 developer Bungie has revealed that the sci-fi shooter’s upcoming annual pass will provide gamers with new locations to explore, although they won’t be full-fledged planets. Speaking with Polygon during a Q&A session at Bungie Towers, Steve Cotton and Scott Taylor, who serve as game director and project lead on Destiny 2: Forsaken, respectively, clarified how the new add-ons will work in terms of new areas to explore. ‘We’re going to have new places to check out,’ revealed Taylor....

Destiny 2 isn’t quite the same MMO/FPS hybrid game in 2020 that it was a year ago. Developer Bungie changed the game’s content pipeline last fall, emphasizing seasonal content with smaller drops of new activities to do over large updates delivered quarterly. The shift was an effort to satisfy fans while allowing the development team to work at its own pace. Things haven’t been perfect since, but overall reception has been pretty positive from Destiny’s notably demanding fanbase....

I’ll admit my experience with the original Destiny pales in comparison to many of its avid fanbase, but there was one thing that annoyed me about it – one thing that annoys me in general about some video games – and that’s dead ends with no rewards. Find a cool little nook, nothing in it. Oh my, look at that cranny over there, nowt in it! It’s like getting a lump of coal in an empty laptop box for Christmas....

Thus far in season 2, it seems that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans have been treated with iconic additions from Modern Warfare 2. They’ve seen Ghost return now as an operator, and Season 2 even brought back the fan-favorite map Rust, which will reportedly have a 1v1 Rust playlist sometime next week. That’s not to say all content is currently focused on MW2, though, as a recent datamine proves....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Message of the Day has been the focus of some scrutiny since launch. Some fans have expressed the opinion that Infinity Ward was using the Message of the Day to tease them about overpowered and controversial weapons like claymores. Much has been said about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s online multiplayer, especially in regards to various technical issues and glitches that have plagued it since launch. Not much attention has been given to how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare performs in split-screen, but the game has its fair share of problems there as well. In fact, some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players are experiencing an issue in split-screen where the image on the top of the screen is constantly flickering and glitching out....

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale developed by Infinity Ward. It takes the gunplay and mechanics from Modern Warfare and places them into the wilderness of Verdansk. You and your squad are tasked with evading the gas and taking down enemies one by one, in a mission to become the last man standing. Victory depends on picking the right equipment, making the right decisions, and knowing what to do....

Activision’s Call of Duty: WWII isn’t released until November 3, but Xbox One owners can now kick off the pre-load for the Second World War first-person shooter. The game will obviously block access until launch, but at least those with slower internet connections or data caps can begin the download process well ahead of time. At this moment in time the game is unavailable for pre-load on PlayStation 4. In a post on Reddit, it’s been revealed that the size of the download for Call of Duty: WWII is 45....

Despite CCP ditching VR development for now, they have managed to finally bring their VR sport title Sparc to the PC. The game has just been released on Steam for £16.99 and promises “a unique physical sport only possible in virtual reality”. The game was quite well received on PSVR but how well it will do on PC remains to be seen. Fortunately, Sparc comes with single player challenges and trials as well as multiplayer....

Are you a bad enough dude/dudette to cosplay a character from The Witcher 3? CD Projekt RED have some rewards on offer, if so – like flying around the world with them to cosplay at events. And yes, I really did just use the word “dudette.” Kill me now. Eleanor Matsuura – Yugiri Yugiri Mistwalker is a central character throughout the entire Final Fantasy XIV saga, but is voiced by an all-new actor for Stormblood following the tragic death of Sian Blake last year. British actor Eleanor Matsuura steps in, marking her second role as a video game voice actor — her only previous experience in that sector of the industry being Doctor Who: The Adventure Games. The Tokyo-born actor is best known for her television roles in Spooks: The Greater Good and the popular Sherlock series....

The inclusion of Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is undoubtedly a momentous occasion, as it’s not only the first Microsoft character to appear in Nintendo’s crossover fighting game but also the bear and bird duo’s first appearance on a Nintendo console in almost fifteen years. Konami has announced the rest of the Contra games that will make up the forthcoming Contra Anniversary Collection ahead of its release later this summer. Revealing the full list to IGN last night, six more Contra games are added to the four that were revealed in the original announcement, with six further Japanese variants of some of the titles in the sci-fi shooter series to be added as a free update to the Collection further down the line....
