It’s the first Iron Banner week in Destiny 2‘s Season of Arrivals. As was the case with the first game, there are Destiny 2 daily and weekly resets, where certain activities and milestones will start yielding better rewards again. Following the news earlier this week, where a piece of Destiny 2 gear looked a little too similar to an internet meme which had been repurposed by alt-right hate groups, Bungie has discussed its feelings on the incident in a blog post stating that any link was completely unintentional. The issue resulted in the planned maintenance window being extended in order to hide the offending armour, which was originally created back in 2015, so that players could no longer equip it....

Just earlier today, we learned what movies the Producers Guild of America were nominating for their equivalent of Best Picture, and the Directors Guild of America has followed suit by revealing its share of nominees. Among them are some familiar names, including Quentin Tarantino for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Martin Scorsese for The Irishman, but in what amounts to a small surprise is Taika Waititi also getting in for directing Jojo Rabbit....

Codemasters has revealed the first screenshots and details on Pikes Peak, a new Hillclimb rally environment coming soon to DiRT Rally. Available in a free content update later this month, Pikes Peak promises to offer a brand new challenge over the game’s three existing locations, with the course’s extreme altitude affecting the player’s engine power and aerodynamics. “It’s such a different challenge tearing up the hill with no co-driver giving you instructions,” chief game designer Paul Coleman wrote in a post on the game’s website....

Yhe next mao to join Dirty Bomb is the Tower of London inspired map called Castle. Splash Damage has released a flythrough video showing some of the map to give an idea of what’s in store when it’s released. The new map will be going live next week so watch out for that. In other news, Weapon Skins are also being added to the game via weapon cards and a new feature is Merc decks where players can create a deck for each Merc to tie-in with the new skin feature....

Call of Duty: World War II’s boots on the ground are about to get a sprinkling of snow, as it announced the start of its first seasonal event Winter Siege, which will bring a few wintery-themed changes to the WWII shooter. During the event – which runs from Friday December 8 through January 2 – players will be able to skirmish on a new snowy-themed version of the Carenten map for free on multiplayer....

A group of college students from Cambridge have revealed plans to exhibit their games alongside major players in the video games industry at next week’s E3. The group of 16-19 year-olds from Cambridge Regional College will be showcasing 13 mobile titles from their student-run development company Rizing Games, including twin-stick alien shooter Operation Swarm, puzzle game FlikIt and fishing-action game Fishing For Clues. Each game has been developed and published by students on the college’s Games Development course, with future games also set to come to PlayStation platforms....

Capcom has today revealed more detail on the upcoming Arcade Mode to be added to Street Fighter V in its new Arcade Edition launching in January. In a post on the Capcom Unity Blog, it’s revealed the mode will offer fighters the opportunity to take one of six paths, each based on a previous Street Fighter title including II, Alpha and IV among others. You’ll only be able to take a path with the fighters that appeared in that particular game, although they’re being quite broad with that description as Kolin only appeared briefly in that game’s intro for Gill....

Celeste is hard. This is an accepted fact. Just playing through the main story is hard. It requires precision, endurance, and a certain degree of masochism to hurl yourself into crystalline spikes over and over. Then Celeste steps up the difficulty by adding a whole host of collectibles and bonus levels (B-sides). The most noticeable of these collectibles are the strawberries. They are completely unnecessary for completing the game. There’s even a tool tip that that lets you know you’re only earning bragging rights....
