Activision and Sledgehammer Games have blown open Call of Duty: Vanguard, unveiling its story and multiplayer options. As shown before (and in leaks), Vanguard will take you back to World War II as seen through the eyes of four soldiers. Naturally, the game will have a Zombies mode created by Treyarch. It will also be integrated into Warzone. Finally, Call of Duty: Vanguard releases on November 5, but you’ll be able to try it early with an open beta soon....

The PC multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: WWII begins on September 29, and it’s bringing a number of features that’ll please PC players. Players will be able to play in 4K, dabble with FOV sliders, remap keys and even play on their ultra-wide monitors. It’s looking like the best PC version of COD in many years. The game’s developer Sledgehammer revealed the PC beta’s minimum and recommended specs last night, and also detailed what players can expect from the multiplayer beta....

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, by all means, could have been DLC for Capcom Arcade Stadium. It has another 32 Capcom arcade games, but features the exact same UI, menus, and machine models. Granted, the first release is good, even if it wasn’t as user-friendly as it should have been. A semi-sequel would have been a good opportunity for significant improvements. Instead, it’s another round of games with the same interface. Granted, this time invincibility is available by default, and you don’t have to pay for it....

With the upcoming release of Tower of Fantasy, many have found that the style has points of contact with fan-favorite Genshin Impact. YouTube user On Game played with the character creator of Tower of Fantasy (you could say that the fact that it does have a character creation suite is one of the major differences) to reproduce some of the most popular characters of Genshin Impact. A new mobile Pokémon game called PokéLand has just entered alpha testing in Japan. The alpha is on Android phones only, and the first batch of alpha participants tops out at 10,000 (though more will be recruited ‘from time to time.) One user has already posted what is claimed to be some gameplay footage of the alpha, and it looks legit when compared to the official screens. It features real time combat as you control your Pokémon directly, kind of like Pokémon Rumble....

A playable demo of Civilization VI has been released on Steam, giving those yet to sample the hit strategy title a chance to take 60 turns as China, led by Qin Shi Huang. Play on a fixed map with America, Egypt and Sumeria. Once you reach the end of the demo you have the option to buy the full game or start the demo again. If you need a little help getting started the demo also includes a tutorial, designed to get you up to speed on the basics....

According to reports, the stolen source code of Cyberpunk 2077, the free-to-play card game Gwent and a new version of The Witcher 3 have already been auctioned after the developer CD Projekt RED has refused to give in to ransom requests from hackers following a breach of its servers. Yesterday, CD Projekt released a statement claiming that an “unidentified actor” gained unauthorized access to its internal network over the weekend and collected a series of data....

It is no secret that grenade launchers are currently extremely powerful in Destiny 2. Receiving a major PvE damage buff in the Season of the Drifter, grenade launchers have become a staple weapon choice when it comes to dealing boss damage. Weapons like The Mountaintop, Season 5’s Crucible pinnacle weapon, have become a top-tier weapon for Destiny 2’s PvE content because of its ability to dish out damage. Destiny 2 will release on September 8, according to a leaked poster said to be from GameStop Italy. The poster also includes the Exclusive Content for PlayStation logo, seemingly continuing the relationship between Activision and Sony. Oddly enough, that’s just what will happen next week, with Bungie confirming another batch of downtime for its alien shooter. Destiny 2 will be brought offline on January 16 at 11.00am GMT, after which you won’t be able to log in to the game....

The developer behind Destiny 2 has revealed how it plans on sprucing up the game’s Crucible mode with March’s impending update 1.1.4, following a host of feedback from users. First up, Bungie has been poking and prodding with respawn and revive features in Destiny 2’s PvP offering. Specifically, respawn times for all Quickplay and Survival modes have been reduced to 2s and 7s, respectively, while revive tokens are no longer lost upon kicking the bucket....

Codemasters has released more gameplay footage from the upcoming rally game DiRT 5, this time taking us on a point-to-point Rally Raid event. The course in the footage is set in China, meaning we get to see a few of the game’s vehicles like the Skoda Fabia R5 and the new Ford Fiesta R5 MKII as we blister past paddy fields, little villages and get muddy near a couple of monuments here and there....

Even in the new year Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to go strong, with speculation suggesting there might be five more seasons in development coinciding with whatever title will come from Infinity Ward in 2020. However, just as strong is the game’s fanbase looking to hold developers accountable for promised updates. One player received a response from Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot on Twitter Sunday, who said they will be starting to push a “big update” through this week....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been surprisingly good about responding to player criticism and fixing issues with the game.
