Discord, the popular voice and text chat programme for gamers, has announced plans to start flogging games via its own dedicated digital store. In fact, the beta for the store has actually started rolling out in Canada, and currently allows you to purchase titles from THQ and Deep Silver. One of the most recent games on the list is Dead Cells, the metroidvania-flavoured actioner from developer Motion Twin. CD Projekt’s co-founder Marcin Iwinski has apologised to players who purchased The Witcher 3 based on early marketing material, and questioned whether the company should have released a trailer in 2013 that appeared to show greater visuals than those found in the final game. “If you’re looking at the development process, we do a certain build for a tradeshow and you pack it, it works, it looks amazing,” Iwinski said while discussing the game’s history in an interview with Eurogamer....

Cyberpunk 2077 will be a game with many features to cater to a wide variety of play styles. I wrote a whole opinion article about the kind of open-ended gameplay we can expect from it. Someone had to guess this would happen eventually. Physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077 are out in the wild, and gameplay leaks have already made it onto the internet. Twenty minutes of the Nomad backstory were streamed live from a PlayStation 4 or PS4 Pro. Footage of the game running quickly made its way around the internet, with users on the Resetera forums posting multiple (now deleted) links to the stream. The folks streaming, either too high to focus on the game or too giddy to take their time with it, skip through character creation and get right to the meat of this prologue....
Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have more than just a main quest. There will also be additional side quests and street stories. Like with most games, the main quests take priority. However, in the developer spotlight, CDPR quest design coordinator Philipp Weber noted that the game will not be linear. Not all of the main quests need to be completed to get through the game. Dandy Ace is a roguelike developed by Mad Mimic. It was a crowdfunded project that failed to raise its initial goal of $25,000 USD, but was saved by publisher Neowiz. There have been past cases of early access projects falling apart after funding didn’t go as planned. Thankfully, Dandy Ace is not another example of that. Instead, Mad Mimic has left us with a well-crafted roguelike that can compete with the very best the genre has to offer....

Co-op sci-fi mining shooter Deep Rock Galactic has trumpeted a new player milestone of 10 million users, following its successful rollout via PlayStation Plus on PS4 and PS5. That means the game has more than doubled its userbase since 4th January, after previously being available since May 2020 on PC and Xbox One. The game’s PlayStation launch includes a free battle pass, offering new rewards for online multiplayer. Soren Lundgaard, boss of Deep Rock Galactic’s 40-person development team, said the studio had been blown away by the success....
