Cities: Skylines’ first expansion pack ‘After Dark’ will release worldwide on September 24, Paradox Interactive has announced. The expansion introduces a brand new day/night cycle to the city-builder, along with new “nighttime city services”. It’ll be available for $14.99, although a UK price has yet to be confirmed. According to Paradox, cities will be filled with less traffic during night, allowing players to “identify problem areas in the road network” and create and modify roads while it’s quiet....
Another few months have rolled around, so for Colossal Order, that means it’s time to release yet another DLC for the seemingly never-ending Cities: Skylines. Remedy Entertainment has announced it’s entered a deal with publisher 505 Games to make a multiplayer co-op spin-off of Control, currently named Condor. Details on Condor itself are, at present, slight — but the studio has said it will be a 4-player PvE game and will run on Northlight, the same engine used in Control. It’ll also be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, but no release date was given....

Planet Entertainment, publisher of Cooking Mama: Cookstar, has responded to Office Create’s allegations that it was not allowed to release the new Cooking Mama game. Office Create is the developer of all previous games in the sweet cooking sim series. It holds the rights to the Cooking Mama IP, which were lent to Planet Entertainment to produce a new Cooking Mama game. Apparently, the “quality of the game builds failed to meet the standards that our customers expect and deserve,” and Office Create told the publisher what it wanted instead....
GhostShark Games is back after four years with a brand new psychological adventure: Still There. The game is expected to release later this fall on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Players will follow the journey of Karl. According to a job description listed on Still There‘s Steam profile, Karl has accepted a job aboard the Bento Space Lighthouse. His official title is keeper of the lighthouse. Day in and day out, he is tasked with performing operational checks, collecting data, participating in the occasional drug trails, and so on....
Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Interactive will sit around “breakeven” point for the next two years, soon-to-be-new owner Embracer has said. Financial details for the two companies have been made public as part of Square Enix’s sale. The Final Fantasy publisher is offloading both for just $300m - a figure which seems miniscule compared to other recent games industry mergers and acquisitions. “We firmly believe that the studios will excel under Embracer’s operating model and ownership,” Embracer wrote in a note to press, adding that the studios would continue to “breakeven” for the “the upcoming two financial years driven mainly by sales of the back-catalogue titles”....

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has said it wants to establish a new blockbuster franchise with the upcoming science-fiction RPG, promising it’ll be even more ambitious than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The studio briefly touched on the highly anticipated title during the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar, where it revealed the developer’s goal with the title was always about establishing ‘a new blockbuster franchise from the beginning.’ ‘Great game, more ambitious than Witcher 3, and we believe that we can aim [at] more ambitious business goals as well — of course, still having gamer-centric focus and quality focus as a main priority,’ commented CD Projekt Red boss, Adam Kicinski....
Cloudpunk, a slick and stylish narrative game from developer Ion Lands, is out now for PC. “As massive cyberpunk genre fans we had plenty of chances to make a game about shooting people in a futuristic city. Bungie unveiled Destiny’s next big expansion, The Taken King, during Sony’s E3 press conference last night. The expansion, which will see players face off against Crota’s father, Oryx, will also include the long-awaited third subclasses for Titans, Warlocks and Hunters. Hunters will receive the Nightstalker subclass, which gives Void abilities plus a new bow. Titans get the Sunbreaker, which includes a new solar hammer to bring down area-of-effect damage on foes....
