The mystery surrounding one of Twitch’s more recent odd decisions appears to have been solved. A small controversy grew after Twitch denied an emote for Twitch streamer SHiFT. Square Enix has revealed framerate and resolution details for its forthcoming remaster Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. As perhaps expected, the game will run with 4K resolution and 60fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, while on PC (Steam) the frame rate can be boosted to 120fps depending on specs. However, Xbox Series S owners should note that a day one patch will be required in order to hit 60fps, otherwise it’ll be 30fps....

Cyberpunk 2077 may not get any online multiplayer content, developer CD Projekt RED suggests. The developer had confirmed that multiplayer was taking a backseat to single player and that any multiplayer content would be added after launch, but it seems as though multiplayer could potentially be dropped entirely. At Gamescom 2019, Eurogamer asked CD Projekt RED about the status of Cyberpunk 2077’s online multiplayer. The game’s senior concept artist Marthe Jonkers revealed that CD Projekt RED is now doing research and development into online multiplayer and that the single player is what players will get when Cyberpunk 2077 releases in 2020....

Most gamers have already heard about CD Projekt Red delaying Cyberpunk 2077 until September. The developer behind Days Gone has blown the lid off the game’s impressive-looking Photo Mode, which aims to give players the feeling ’they are using and manipulating a real camera in the real world.' The best bit? The Photo Mode will be available for Days Gone when it launches late next month. No waiting around for a patch here, folks! Sony Bend has confirmed that the Photo Mode will make full use of Days Gone’s day/night cycle, which offers various weather types and ample opportunities to snap some jaw-dropping vistas in the game’s open world....

Dead Island 2’s new developer is UK-based Sumo Digital, MCV has revealed. The zombie sequel began under the guidance of Yager, but this partnership was ended by publisher Deep Silver in July 2015 leaving the game in a state of limbo. It’s not clear how long Sumo has now been in charge of development. “Sumo showed so much understanding of the brand, had creative ideas and an excellent, vision that was aligned with our own,” Koch Media CEO Dr Klemens Kundratitz told MCV....

The last of the year’s major game releases launched last week, with Xbox One’s Dead Rising 4 going up against acclaimed PS4 exclusive The Last Guardian, but neither could compete with the multi-format titles already in stores. Dead Rising 4 charted in fifth spot, actually only outsold on an individual format basis by Infinite Warfare on PS4 and Xbox One, respectively. The game charted two places higher than Dead Rising 3 three years ago....

Destiny 2 is all about the sweet, sweet loot and players find themselves crawling back and drudging through the grind just to get their hands on as many awesome weapons as they possibly can. Bungie has crafted some of the most entertaining and rewarding gunplay around and there are so many weapons sprinkled throughout the Destiny 2 landscape that you’re free to explore all kinds of interesting play styles. Destiny 2 seems to be experiencing more bugs than usual right now, with some issues even impeding progress and breaking certain weapons in the game. While some bugs are certainly to be expected in an online live game, the amount currently causing issues in Destiny 2 seems to be more plentiful with more cropping up over the past few days. UPDATE: Microsoft has told VideoGamer.com that Lords of the Fallen is “not part of the Ultimate Game Sale” – despite the game being reduced to £7.50 yesterday and developer Deck 13 stating that it was “supposed to be in there”. “‘Lord of the Fallen’ on Xbox One is not part of the Ultimate Game Sale Feb. 17 – 23,” a Microsoft representative said in a statement provided to us this afternoon....

Earlier today, a brand new interview from The Cut with Megan Thee Stallion may have revealed some new information about the musician’s involvement with She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. According to interviewer Ashley C. Ford, Megan mentioned that she will be appearing in an episode of the show later this season, which ends on Oct. 13. This is quite a surprising development as there has been no official word from Marvel Studios or Disney yet on the musician’s involvement in the show....

Devolver Digital just revealed one of its big surprises for PAX East this week, and it’s bringing its own deadly spin to the proceedings. The title is called Disc Room, and it comes from Jan Willem Nijman and Kitty Calis, who previously worked on Minit. It’s a game requiring dexterity and skill, where one wrong move will make you sliced sashimi. Set to debut sometime this year, the game takes place in the future, in the year 2089....
