Dean Hall’s new game, ION, will be available first on PC and Xbox One via the Game Preview Program, Microsoft has announced. The Game Preview Program is an early access type service, similar to what is seen on Steam. Inspired by the cult favourite Space Station 13, ION is an emergent narrative massively-multiplayer online game in which players will build, live in and die in huge floating galactic constructions as humanity makes its first steps colonizing the universe....

Acclaimed for his unique approach to game mechanics, Hideo Kojima has recently revealed an interesting new feature of the Death Stranding Pro Bundle controller. The Bridge Baby that Sam (played by Norman Reedus) carries throughout the game will make noises to players through their controller. It is unclear if this sound will be on all PlayStation DualShock controllers or just the bundle version but it does indicate that the creator of some of gamings most memorable moments still has a few tricks up his sleeve....

In fact, today’s latest revelations all but confirm that Trials will be back next season. Bungie revealed at the weekend that its online-only shooter had surpassed 1.2 million concurrent players on September 9, across both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Bungie wrote on its Twitter that Destiny 2 had more concurrent players than the PC smash hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, saying thank you to all who were playing the game. Capcom has offered up the first set of details on the second Horizon Zero Dawn crossover event for Monster Hunter: World, known as The Proving. This time around you can expect to be on the hunt for a giant Anjanath, and you’ll be rewarded with materials needed to craft a bow and armour wielded by Horizon’s firey-haired heroine, Aloy. Equipping the clobber will transform your appearance to match Aloy regardless of your gender....

The annual Japanese convention, Jump Festa, is just around the corner. While interest in the event is usually exclusive to the anime and manga communities, game publishers including Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix have been known to showcase new games there as well. Capcom is reportedly unveiling a previously unannounced title that will be playable at Jump Festa 2020 on December 21. It has already been confirmed that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection will be at Jump Festa....

A new Mass Effect easter egg has been pointed out by a fan over a decade and a half after the game’s release, and Casey Hudson is ecstatic that someone finally noticed it. In a post made by Twitter user MissSnizabelle on Jan. 17, it was pointed out that the introduction text in Mass Effect is a perfect parallel to the introductory text used in the 1986 film Top Gun. They provided screenshots of both introduction segments side by side, and the resemblance makes it clear that this was an intentional homage....

Some extremely enterprising Germans at Slow Bros. are making a video game entirely by hand, using physical sets and puppets with handmade clothes. Now the game, Harold Halibut, has a hypnotic new teaser trailer, showing off some of the sets and character models the team has made. Harold Halibut is an adventure game set on a 70s spaceship that’s managed to get stuck underwater on a distant ocean planet. The titular Harold is a janitor and lab assistant on the aforementioned ship, trying to help Professor Mareaux relaunch the ship, because it’s been stuck for hundreds of years....

Apart from eliminating an opponent with a headshot, one can use some really cool moves to get the job done. I mean, what else would feel as good as decimating your opponent with a lethal blow? This will surely develop a sense of fear in the heart of your enemies on the battlefield. What if I say that such moves are executable in Modern Warfare 2? The PC version of Dark Souls 3 will run at 60fps, Bandai Namco has confirmed. Confirmation follows a rumour earlier this week suggesting the game would be capped at 30fps. The console version’s framerate has yet to be formally confirmed, but you should probably expect it to run at 30fps, similar to last year’s Bloodborne. The Dark Souls franchise has previously been criticised for its PC ports, with the original game requiring a fan mod to uncap the 30fps limit....

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep brings new challenges as Guardians face off against the Nightmares of the Hive and Vex invaders on the moon. As such, you’ll need to be in tip-top shape.
