In what could be every Madden fanatic’s worst nightmare come true, EA has confirmed that a “data storage error” has had a devastating impact on some unfortunate players’ online Franchise modes. Targeting only those who logged in during a certain period of time, the glitch is estimated to make approximately 60% of affected data unsalvageable. On Dec. 26, EA had first flagged apparent difficulties with CFM (Connected Franchise Mode) connection, releasing a tweet via the MaddenNFLDirect account that they were working on resolving the issue:...

Dead Space hero Isaac Clarke is now available to play as in Fortnite, ahead of his appearance in the franchise’s upcoming remake which launches this Friday. The release of Destiny 2’s Shadowkeep’s Dungeon, called Pit of Heresy, brings a new exotic weapon to pursue: the explosive-round firing Xenophage. Unlike Wishender from the Shattered Throne Dungeon though, you’ll need to acquire the quest for Xenophage outside of the dungeon and complete a series of puzzle-focused quest steps before you can enter the dungeon and collect the machine gun. Destiny 2 players are hard at the grind with the release of the Shadowkeep expansion. Part of that includes taking advantage of Destiny 2’s Powerful Engram system, which rewards a piece of equipment of a higher Power level than the player’s base for completing specific challenging tasks each week. However, it seems that at least one method of earning a Powerful Engram is currently bugged, based on current Destiny 2 player feedback....

In Year 3, Destiny 2 is introducing the season pass, a new system similar to a Battle Pass that provides gear and items as players progress along it from ranks 1 to 100. Now that Shadowkeep has launched the full contents of the Season 8 season pass has been revealed. Destiny 2 players who have not purchased Season of the Undying will progress along the free path of the season pass, while those who bought Season 8 (which many players probably did considering that it is included with the purchase of the Shadowkeep expansion) will travel along the premium path....

Destiny 2 players are not happy about the recent Iron Banner event. Normally, the Iron Banner is a pretty big deal in Destiny 2. CD Projekt RED may have just teased The Witcher 4 in its new earnings report. In the report, the company also confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is selling well more than four years after its release and that Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders have been strong too. CD Projekt, the parent company of developer CD Projekt RED, says that the company will be moving to a “dual-franchise model” with its two series, The Witcher and Cyberpunk....

Capcom’s games are selling so well, the publisher has revised its earnings forecast. Last year, it released the likes of Resident Evil: Village and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, both of which exceeded sales expectations and are cited by Capcom as a direct reason for the forecast revision. Additionally, the release of Monster Hunter Rise on PC earlier this year - previously exclusive to the Nintendo Switch - has proven the “stable popularity of catalogue titles”....

The Behemoth has announced the Switch release date of Castle Crashers Remastered, and the game is releasing in the middle of an already packed September. Castle Crashers Remastered released a few years ago on the PC and Xbox One, but the brawler is just now making its way to the Switch. A PS4 version of the game is also almost ready, but The Behemoth doesn’t have a release date quite yet....

Update, December 2, 4.04pm: Publisher 2K Games has discovered a fix for the crashes on Civilization VI’s Switch version. You might not like it, though: “A discovered known workaround is to declare war on the Civilization that is causing the crash right before you end your turn. This seems to alleviate the crashing in most instances. In order for you to know which Civilization is causing the crash, you’ll have to pay attention to which Civ’s turn it falls onto immediately before the crash happens....

Terry Crews simulator Crackdown 3 has failed to puncture the UK Top 10, with Microsoft’s latest Xbox One exclusive title debuting at 13. According to Chart-Track, the destroy-’em-up sequel sold less than 10% of what Crackdown 2 managed to achieve back in 2010. Still, it’s important to remember that a lot of people are probably going down the Game Pass route with Crackdown 3, so there’s that to consider.
