Crytek has announced that Mattis Engström, former game director of Hitman 3, will lead work on upcoming shooter Crysis 4. As spotted by PC Gamer, the company announced the appointment on the game’s official Twitter account. Engström had previously worked at IO Interactive on the Hitman series since its 2017 reboot. He worked as a level designer on the first two instalments of the Hitman: World of Assassination Trilogy before his promotion on the 2021 entry....

Horror film maker Eli Roth has teamed up with Bandai Namco to create an animated trailer for Dark Souls 3. Titled ‘The Witches’, the two minute trailer was directed by Roth and carries a warning for disturbing scenes. It reminded us of Dragon’s Lair. Gunfire Games has rolled out a new Darksiders 3 update, allowing players to select between a default and classic combat system for the actioner. The classic option tweaks Darksiders 3’s combat so that it falls more in line with previous entries in the series, with protagonist Fury able to dodge interrupt her attacks and instantly use items. In addition, the update also raises the game’s level cap to 200, while improving the consistency of Fury’s chances of grabbing ledges....

Development on PlayStation exclusive Days Gone is now officially in the books as Sony’s Bend Studio has tweeted out over the weekend that the upcoming game has officially gone gold. However, users can change the active system for their Nintendo Account whenever they like. Activision and Sledgehammer Games have announced Call of Duty: Vanguard will get a crossover with anime Attack on Titan next week, following a mid-season update today. On January 20, the Tracer Pack: Attack on Titan – Levi Edition Bundle will be available from the in-game store.
