Conan Exiles has been going strong for years, and today Funcom revealed a big update coming down the line. The update, numbered 3.0, will bring an element to the game that has been teased pretty much since the release of the game, and it’s sorcery. Players will finally be able to conduct rituals and perform spells bringing back the second part of the “sword and sorcery” definition. Another large change is the fact that periodic cultural DLCs will be replaced by Ages, which will have their own theme and their own Battle Passes....
The monster-hunting RPG Coromon had its PC release today. While the concept of catching monsters in a colorful and varied landscape may seem simple, it’s actually fairly complex. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t seen a lot of games try and capture the essence of Pokémon. In fact, Coromon, the newest game in this sub-genre of JRPGs, looks to be nailing some of these aspects. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time won’t use in-game purchases, ergo, that statement about in-app purchases is false (via Destructoid). Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was free of in-game purchases initially, and then Activision added these with a post-release patch. That didn’t go down well, and though the feature is still in the racing remaster, Activision altered their format based on feedback from players. Hearing that Crash Bandicoot 4 would also feature these in-game purchases wasn’t outside of the realm of possibility, really....
Today Neos announced the release window of the PlayStation 4 port of Crayon Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey. The game will launch in August 2022 on Sony’s old-gen console, and perhaps the biggest surprise is that it will be released simultaneously in Japan, United States, and Europe. While voices will be only in Japanese, text will be provided in Japanese, English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese....
It’s still hard for me wrap my head around how far technology has come since Crysis debuted back in 2007. The game pushed my old ATI Radeon card to the extreme for some 720p, 24 fps gaming. How times have changed. We now have Crysis Remastered running with ray tracing and max settings and it’s just not that big of a deal. The Cuphead series has had quite a year. Just recently, Studio MDHR announced that the indie darling would get a physical release, along with a collectors edition. Now, Cuphead is coming back to the small screen with another batch of episodes for the TV series, The Cuphead Show. Destiny 2’s big new expansion The Witch Queen arrives today for all platforms, though its pre-load has been held up on PS4 due to “an unforeseen issue”. Late last night, PS4 owners reported being unable to download the game’s ~72GB of required content files ahead of The Witch Queen going live today. Other platforms, including PS5, are unaffected. In a tweet this morning, Bungie’s support account acknowledged the snafu, and said PS4 owners would have to wait until 9am PST (5pm UK time) when the update formally goes live....
Video games that focus on loot need to constantly release powerful and unique items or players will get bored. Bungie has struggled with this for as long as Destiny has existed, but there are plenty of epic items to chase and use in Destiny 2. While some Legendaries rival Exotics in strength, there are unique weapons called Pinnacle weapons. These guns have unique perks that are almost like Exotics, granting powerful bonuses when used in a certain way....
It’s been known for some time that the PC version of Destiny 2 was making the move to Steam following the Activision split, but developer Bungie recently released a new trailer detailing a few facts about the transfer. Interested parties will be able to sign up to transfer their Battle.net account to Steam on August 20, 2019, with all their progress, gear, triumphs, and rewards coming with them. The developer also suggests that it’s so easy “even a titan could do it,” but that’s not the most eye-catching part of the trailer....
