After three years of development, including two delays, SIE Bend Studio’s Days Gone is finally available exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Zombie fanatics - which include yours truly - have been patiently awaiting the game that blew us away when we first saw its reveal trailer grace the E3 2016 stage. Twitter was abuzz with hype on Days Gone’s official release day, with other studios across the industry congratulating Bend on a successful release....
Warner Bros. Discovery and DC have announced the cancellation of this year’s DC Fandome event with the following statement to ThePopVerse:“With the return of in person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.” The news while, initially, somewhat shocking, soon seems once that initial shock has worn off, as inevitable, given the spate of recent changes and upheavals in regards to the DC Cinematic Universe with the delayed release dates for both Shazam: Fury of the Gods, and Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom....
Death Stranding is well on its way, with only a few weeks until release, fans are brimming with excitement and detractors are still questioning the game mechanics. Fortunately for both parties, creator Hideo Kojima is discussing the games features as he talks at promotional events. Most recently at the Garage Museum of Art in Moscow, he revealed that some NPC’s will die without players giving them care and attention. A great deal of fanfare surrounds Death Stranding because of Kojima’s impressive work as the mastermind of the Metal Gear series....
Bungie has released a new video taking a behind the scenes look at upcoming expansion Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. The team are calling the upcoming story the beginning of the end of the Light and Darkness Saga. Major villain Savathûn has been mentioned here and there in the game’s backstory as far back as the first Destiny. But now she’s making her presence known, and ready to take the Guardians out herself....
Bungie has divulged how much of Destiny 2 is being vaulted once Beyond Light launches in November, and it’s a lot. The Destiny Content Vault was revealed when Bungie explained what the future is looking like for Destiny 2. This Vault would hold onto old content while the new additions were rolled out. A nifty system, but Bungie did say that approximately half of Destiny 2’s locations would be ditched when Beyond Light goes live....
Having been a big fan of the Thomas the Tank Engine TV series when I was a kid on top of also getting into simulators early on, I played a lot of train sims back in the day. It’s been a while, so when I saw Diesel Railcar Simulator for the first time, it brought back a lot of fond memories from those times. After jumping into it, it’s safe to say that while it’s a bit lightweight on content, it certainly does do a good job at capturing the feel of a decent train simulator....
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just recently received one of its biggest post-launch updates yet, which added two brand new maps to the game in the form of Shoot House for standard multiplayer and Krovnik Farmland for the large-scale Ground War mode. Shoot House has proven to be quite popular, even getting its own 24/7 playlist, though fans have also taken notice of Krovnik Farmland, spotting an interesting detail about the map that may have implications for the game’s future....
Back when Season One for the multiplayer of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare was announced, the developer, Infinity Ward, stated that the team would stick to a weekly update schedule. Two weeks into Season One, Infinity Ward has released its second update. With the 1.12 patch many changes were added into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to improve the gaming experience, such as tweaks to the game’s audio. The most significant change to the gameplay, however, is that the update will change how specific guns operate in multiplayer....
Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward is busy hiring for a new project slated to appear on ‘multiple next-gen platforms,’ according to a new job listing posted by the company. Assuming this is a Call of Duty game (and it probably is, this being Infinity Ward and all), the game will very likely have a dedicated story campaign. The opening is for a temporary narrative scripter to help out on the mystery title, and has frequent references to ‘cinematic’ work....

At the Tokyo Game Show this year, there has been a big announcement that is being met with very mixed reviews. It seems Capcom is in the midst of developing a new Devil May Cry with the help of Ninja Theory. The fact that Ninja Theory is involved is causing very mixed feelings, leaving some gamers wondering why the game is being Americanized, and others interested just because they enjoy Ninja Theory’s games such as Heavenly Sword....

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow developer MercurySteam has teased the first look at its next project. A teaser image for the game was spotted on the developer’s website this weekend, showing a man smoking a cigar and piloting what appears to be a futuristic ship. The image is joined by eerie background music and the text: “Exploring new worlds, fighting strange creatures, discovering new heroes. Expect news soon.” It isn’t known whether MercurySteam will be partnering with Konami on the new project, although there have been some suggestions that it could be linked to a new Contra title teased by the publisher back at E3 2011....
