Even though CD Projekt RED wasn’t able to make it to PAX West in Seattle this past weekend, fans were still able to get plenty of new Cyberpunk 2077 details. A planned streaming session showed off over 15 minutes of new gameplay including the Pacifica district and new enemy factions like the Voodoo Boys. Even though the stream also caused a bit of controversy over the cutscene perspective, nothing regarding the multiplayer was discussed....

With three other games under its belt, the Danganronpa series really had to get creative with its V3 characters. With contenders like the devious Nagito and fan favorites like Chiaki, fans couldn’t wait to see what the studio game up with next. Dark Souls 3 has become Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s fastest-selling game of all time, and the most successful day-one launch in the publisher’s history. While sales figures for the game have yet to be revealed, Bandai Namco says that the game achieved “incredibly strong first week sales”, leading to it breaking records within the company. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has not released the same statement, however, suggesting the game may not have broken publisher records this side of the pond....

Those of you looking forward to playing the upcoming Dark Souls Remastered in sumptuous 4K resolution may want to dial back expectations somewhat: Bandai Namco Games has confirmed today that the PS4 Pro version of the dungeon crawler won’t include HDR Lighting. The initial announcement on the PlayStation Blog yesterday trumpeted a number of key enhancements for the title, including HDR Lighting and various other bits and bobs, such utilising assets from the Dark Souls III engine....

EA and Motive have revealed the voice actors cast in its Dead Space remake. Although we already knew that previously silent protagonist Isaac Clarke would now be voiced by Gunner Wright - the original voice of Isaac in Dead Space 2 and 3 - Motive has now revealed the rest of the cast. Tanya Clarke - no relation to Isaac - is back as Nicole Brennan, having provided her voice and likeness in the first game and Dead Space 2....

December 7 saw the inclusion of two brand new activities in Destiny 2: Black Armory. The first one is the Gofannon Forge which rewards the Tatara Gaze sniper as well as a secret emblem that can be discovered. The second is none other than the Scourge of the Past raid. This endgame activity takes place in The Last City just below The Tower and will lead Guardians to discover Fallen attempting to ransack the Black Armory vault....

Trials of Osiris is expected to return in Season 10 of Destiny 2, and players can start preparing now for the much-anticipated PvP endgame event coming back. One of the biggest ways to prepare is to have a highly-effective arsenal of weapons that are at the top of the meta. Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion ships with a new raid lair in case you didn’t know, and it’s now been beaten for the first time by clan Redeem. And it took them rather a long time to do it. If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, clan Redeem has a track record for clearing raids before anyone else. They beat Destiny’s Wrath of the Machine and Destiny 2’s Leviathan Rage on Prestige difficulty before any other fireteam, so they’re considered top-notch players....

It’s no secret that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been a resounding success, with Luigi’s Mansion 3 failing to topple the game one week after its release. Still, the game manages to break records, as it has now become the best-selling game of 2019 thus far. According to GamesIndustry.biz, data from NPD showed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was both October’s best-selling game and the “best-selling game of the year to date....

The latest community update has been posted on the developer-supported Reddit for Call of Duty: Mobile and shares some sparse but tantalizing news about the upcoming Season 3 for the game. Season 3 is planned for release sometime in mid-January and will introduce new maps, modes, a Battle Pass, and a ranked mode season for battle royale and multiplayer. While the development team doesn’t want to reveal everything about the new maps and modes before its official announcements, it did offer some tidbits to give players a taste of what’s to come....

There are certain games that become flag bearers of entire genres. These titles are either the first of their kind, or are so good that they serve as an example of how to do that genre right.
