But when tech corporations are the villains of a genre it raises the question, should tech corporations be the ones writing the genre? Cyberpunk is a revolutionary genre at heart. The villains are often corporations or organized crime, and often there is little difference between the two....

A terrifying new enemy is coming to Dead by Daylight in an exciting new upcoming Stranger Things expansion. The online survival horror title is no stranger to crossovers. Halloween’s Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm’s Street had already joined the game. But it looks like The Demogorgon is set to be the latest killer to terrorize players, per GameRant. Dead by Daylight’s Stranger Things expansion will also feature two new survivors in Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington....

Developer Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital announced their upcoming action role-playing game, Cult of the Lamb, alongside a release window and gameplay trailer. It’s a hard, bleak life for our main character — a little lamb who is due for an untimely execution. But at the last second, an unknown figure possesses the lamb, giving it the power to break free....

The development team behind We Are The Dwarves, Whale Rock Games, have announced their latest project. The new game is called Deployment and it’s a top-down shooter. The game is multiplayer focused with procedurally generated levels. Players will choose from a variety of classes including a Trooper, a light armoured Pyro, Sniper, a tech class called Laser, and an armoured Gunner class. Players will have to capture “systems” taking control of rooms and also upgrade their classes as they play....

With the new addition of the Witch Queen campaign in Destiny 2, there are tons of missions and challenges for players to complete. The expansion is filled with an extensive storyline and the return of the Witch Queen or more commonly known as Savathun. She served as the main antagonist to the previous installment. The expansion is on its way to becoming the most pre-ordered expansion of Destiny 2 as reported by Bungie....

Destiny 2’s fourth expansion, Shadowkeep, is out now, and already high level players are taking on its end-game raid. The latest of these is the Garden of Salvation, a challenging raid that takes place in the Black Garden, a location from the original game. The raid is also part of Shadowkeep’s first seasonal event, Season of the Undying, which will focus on the invasion of the Moon by the robotic Vex following the raid’s events....

Well, this was slightly expected, but it was still a surprise. We’ve seen a trend that has happened in Destiny 2 over the last few years, what with major expansions getting delayed (Shadowkeep by a couple of weeks and Beyond Light by a month and a half). Now, it seems Destiny 2: The Witch Queen will also be delayed. However, Bungie has cited a few changes that the studio would like to make in the coming seasons, such as how Destiny 2 will soon have the Vault of Glass, a transmog feature, the removal of the infusion cap, and tweaks for the power cap....

After plenty of pre-launch details, Season of Dawn has finally arrived for players in Destiny 2. In addition to new modes like the cooperative Sundial activity and loot such as three new exotic gear pieces, season 9 marks the return of Osiris. The exiled Warlock was last seen inside of the Curse of Osiris expansion, though this time around he serves as the primary point of contact for many of the new quests....

Last week the team at Destiny 2 threw out a hotfix for the bug that was causing PC players to get the Buffalo error code when they shouldn’t (though Bungie said that it’s sometimes caused by multiple PCs connecting on a local network, and to please follow the Network Troubleshooting Guide and steps for configuring UPnP). The most recent This Week at Bungie newsletter confirms the fix, as well as highlighting some other known issues that will be addressed, with Update 1....

In a statement that will likely surprise no one, Diablo IV‘s lead designer Joe Shely has stated that the game will have microtransactions. Specifically, cosmetic microtransactions. During BlizzCon 2019, Twitch streamer Quin69 had a conversation with Shely and asked him about microtransactions. During the interview, Shely said, “Diablo IV will be available as a base game, and… you will also be able to acquire cosmetics in the game.” Today it was confirmed that Diablo 4 will have cosmetic microtransactions in addition to xpacs....

Today Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new commercial for its upcoming JRPG Digimon Survive. The video, which is brief like most commercials, still manages to pack in glimpses at cutscenes and even gameplay. Of course, we get to see plenty of familiar Digimon, this time associated with brand new characters. You can check it out below. Digimon Survive is coming for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022....

Dishonored 2 has been officially announced at Bethesda’s E3 2015 showcase, coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in spring 2016. No gameplay footage was shown. Revealed in a snazzy CGI trailer, the game will let you play as Emily Kaldwin, the rightful heir to the throne of the Isles who was kidnapped in the original game or as original progragonist Corvo. Your actions will have repercussions across the game’s timeline....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is feeling frisky for Valentine’s Day. Infinity Ward has pushed an update to Modern Warfare’s playlists that will help players celebrate the holiday, or at least crack a smile. It’s not a dramatic update and it doesn’t add any new content of substance, it’s just something fun for the holiday. Infinity Ward has brought back Gunfight Tournaments, for one, and changed all of Modern Warfare’s playlist named to humorous alternatives....

By and large, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a pretty straightforward game. When things can get as fast-paced and hectic as it tends to get here, it helps to keep the various nuances simple and clear enough that players can see them and quickly understand what they’re all about. That’s why it’s so interesting that players are just starting to notice a useful feature of Modern Warfare’s Cyber Attack mode, because it’s been hiding in plain sight for months....

The Zombies mode has become an important part of Call of Duty since its inception in World War. Call of Duty: Vanguard is once again bringing the iconic Zombies mode back with a pair of new trailers, showcasing some of the mode’s new lore and gameplay. Call of Duty: Vanguard getting a Zombies mode was somewhat of a surprise. The Zombies mode in general is headed by developer Treyarch, who handles a different set of Call of Duty games....

Each year, Call of Duty introduces a skin pack as promotion for the Call of Duty Endowment initiative. This year is no different, and the Call of Duty Endowment Challenger Pack is live. Right now, it happens to be the only purchasable skin in the game. It contains two weapon blueprints, and a host of other cosmetic DLC. The core of the pack is of course, the two blueprints. There’s a primary weapon one for the M16 assault rifle, and it contains a skin and some otherwise-unlockable attachments....

I have no idea what’s going on with Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, but I’m excited by every tiny little morsel. The latest update (via Gamespot) is a Facebook video where Gunslinger’s Silas Greaves mentions Red Dead Redemption 2’s protagonist, Arthur Morgan. This isn’t a call-out vid, though — Silas don’t want no beef. Instead, Greaves says that ‘The Old West is full of legends, and you, Arthur Morgan, soon will be one of the greatest, I’m sure....

Everybody loves Mario Kart, even though the game has been known to test friendships and relationships. Easy to pick up but difficult to master, the series has been going on for close to 25 years. Over that time span, Nintendo came up with over 150 original tracks, and that is without even including the retro tracks which are remastered with every new game. Every game famously ends with a variation on Rainbow Road, but the locales visited over the years have been very diverse....
