This love letter to classic JRPGs features a stunningly beautiful illustration-style and an interesting time-hopping mechanic in the game’s narrative and combat system. The Nintendo Switch has just lost a major third-party exclusive, as Daemon X Machina is coming to PC on February 13. Daemon X Machina is a mech-focused action game set in a world in which gangs of mercenaries fight against hordes of enemy robots, as well as against each other when the time allows. It had some amazing action set pieces and incredible visuals, but it was held back by a mystifying story and overly verbose NPCs who never shut up during missions....

Medal of Honor is available now and there may still be people who have some questions regarding the name change of ‘Taliban’ to the slightly more politically correct ‘Opposing Force’ (a term largely used by U.S. armed forces to describe the enemy) in the game’s multiplayer. Both PC versions of Dark Souls 2 (the older DirectX 9 and newer Scholar of the First Sin) have received patches today, which should address that persistent weapon durability bug. The older version got an 8mb patch, while Scholar had one that was closer to 350mb. At the time of writing there aren’t any additional patch notes up on Steam, or at the Dark Souls 2 site, so it’s assumed that the patch makes the changes trailed a few weeks back....

Deep Silver has ‘parted ways’ with Dead Island 2 developer Yager, the company announced last night. The game hasn’t been outright cancelled, however, although hitting its 2016 launch window now seems unlikely. A replacement developer has yet to be announced. “With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve,” the publisher said in a statement released last night. “After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER....

Revival Productions Descent-like shooter Overload will shortly be heading out of Steam Early Access. The game has been in Early Access testing for just over a year and it will finally be released on 31 May. The release version will come with a 15 -level campaign, Challenge Mode, and of course multiplayer. As scheduled, a new exotic quest is live in Destiny 2 for the exotic sidearm Devil’s Ruin. This new exotic is part sidearm, part laser and it is obtained through one of the easiest exotic quests that the game has ever seen. This exotic, which players knew was coming due to the Season of Dawn content calendar, is not the most powerful weapon in the game, but it does have a very unique function....

Destiny 2‘s Season of Dawn is drawing to a close, and with it comes a community-wide event that should lead to the next part of your Guardian’s journey. The Empyrean Foundation will require you to donate your Polarized Fractalines to power up the Tower Obelisk. Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 is celebrating Halloween with the return of Festival of the Lost. This is the first time the sequel will be getting in the Halloween spirit, although the event was previously introduced in the original Destiny. It usually involved a bunch of spooky cosmetic items, consumables, and time-limited quests, so presumably we’ll get the same sort of thing again. There’s not much known about Destiny 2’s first Festival of the Lost event, although Bungie has teased that it will be ‘a celebration of lost heroes and a new challenge to tackle....

Bungie has confirmed that Bounties will be making a comeback in Destiny 2 slightly earlier than anticipated, with the feature arriving as part of this week’s latest title update. Bounties were a staple feature in the original Destiny, and involved you completing various tasks out in the field.
